Credentials: P.E.'s, Diplomates, Ph.D., Post Ph.D. The Institute and Laboratory of Risk & Safety Analyses provides thorough accident assessment, technical consultation, product testing, and detailed research work. Our staff members (23) hold degrees in Science and Engineering fields (mostly from the University of California), with many holding postgraduate degrees. We specialize in reconstruction, materials, biomechanics and human factors evaluation. Solomon, our Chief Scientist, obtained a Ph.D. in Engineering and a Post Ph.D. in Risk Benefit Assessment, both from UCLA. (Risk Benefit Assessment encompasses the disciplines of Accident Reconstruction, Biomechanics and Human Factors.) Dr. Solomon's major was Nuclear Science with a minor in Mathematics and a 2nd minor in Risk Benefit Assessment. Dr. Solomon's studies address accident reconstruction, biomechanics, and human factors as demonstrated by his 34 years of independent research; his more than 200 internationally distributed publications, reports, and presentations; his thirteen book co-authorship; and his journal guest editorships. Dr. Solomon was on the faculty at the RAND Graduate School for eighteen years, and taught as an Adjunct Faculty at UCLA, USC, Naval Post-Graduate School, George Mason University, and the Orange County Sheriff's Academy. Dr. Solomon is a Reserve with the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner Department, and served as a Commissioner of Policing and Safety for the City of Calabasas (2000 - 2005). Dr. Solomon has published studies in Transportation Accidents (automotive, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles); Industrial & Recreational Accidents (pressure vessels, rotating machinery, forklifts and cranes, exercise & recreational equipment, swimming pools, manufacturing and punch presses); Slip or Trip-and-Fall Accidents; and Adequecy of Warnings. Dr. Solomon has successfully qualified and effectively applied his analyses in courtroom testimony over 1300 times in the past 34 years.
