Mr. Geyer has two undergraduate degrees (BS), Engineering and Soil Science, with a minor emphasis in biological sciences.  He has several professional licenses, including: Professional Civil Engineer (PE), Board-certified industrial hygienist (CIH), Board-certified safety professional (CSP), Registered Environmental Assessor (REA), and he is a California-licensed contractor with a hazardous classification. Mr. Geyer is also trained in 40-hr HAZWOPR, Confined-Space Entry, OSHA Competent Person, Forklift Safety and Explosives Safety.

Summary of Experience:
Mr. Geyer has 20-years of professional experience in environmental engineering proceeded by 15-years of construction work.  He has built hundreds of residential homes, commercial and special-use structures.  He specializes in high-hazard construction projects impacted by chemicals, reactives, hazardous soil gases (e.g., methane, hydrogen sulfide, VOCs, radon), and biological agents.  His experience remediating buildings compromised with biological agents, using heat as a remediation technique, is extensive, as is his experience in the characterization of particulates, chemicals and biological agents at solid waste facilities (e.g., landfills, MRFs, transfer stations).  His work efforts include: mitigating soil-gas vapor intrusion (VI) and workplace hazards, assessing air quality, conducting property condition assessments (PCAs), designing engineering controls to enhance occupant safety, and overseeing remediation of chemical hazards and/or biological agents.
 
Mr. Geyer is often retained by counsel to assist litigation, review case documents, provide expert opinion and support arbitration.  He has been certified in California and Colorado courts as an expert in indoor air quality, asbestos, vapor intrusion, construction defect and solar energy systems.    Mr. Geyer shares his knowledge with others, presenting case studies at national conferences and classes at industry-sponsored professional development courses (PDCs), and for five years he has volunteered for the Kern County (California) Solid Waste Management Advisory Committee.  Mr. Geyer stays abreast of technological changes and is a member of professional organizations in his field of expertise, including: NIBS, BETEC, ASHRAE, AIHA, ACGIH, and ASSE.
