Summary of Experience:
Owner and operator of an organization which provides a range of occupational health and safety, environmental, emergency response and safety management programs (training, consultation, written programs).
These programs and services are provided to a number of clients in private and public sectors. Examples of the services include:
- Safety and Regulatory Compliance Consulting - Provides regulatory, environmental, and legal (Expert Witness) consultation services in a number of areas involving OSHA compliance, safety regulation compliance, construction safety, Fire and Building Codes, D.O.T., environmental regulatory requirements (EPA), etc. Expert witness experienced in a number of areas involving accident reconstruction, safety program management, construction safety, regulatory compliance, and emergency preparedness and response operations.
- Occupational Health and Safety Programs and Training - OSHA/D.O.T./E.P.A. - Reviews, develops and delivers compliance and training programs in the areas of OSHA, D.O.T., and E.P.A regulatory compliance. Courses are developed for and delivered to clients in both the private and public sectors. Programs include the development of written plans, training programs, inspection services, audits, and on-site safety. Develops and delivers customized and effective training programs across a range of areas involved in safety, emergency response, and regulatory compliance. These programs are presented both in person using traditional course delivery methods, and via Internet-Based training through the use of a Remote Instructor to organizations in a range of industries. The Internet courses are delivered via an exclusive partnership with the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG).
- Emergency Response Team/Emergency Management Program Development - Consults in the design and delivery of a complete range of emergency preparedness and response programs including training programs for industrial emergency brigades from basic response through disaster recovery. Evaluates current programs to ensure compliance and operability. Develops disaster response and business recovery programs.
Authored textbook on hazardous materials handling and response entitled Hazardous Materials, Regulations, Response and Site Operations, numerous successful Internet-based training programs in use by organizations throughout the country and around the world, and other published articles
in related fields.
Held increasingly responsible positions in four fire departments. Trained and was responder in variety of specialized programs including Hazardous Materials response, Search and Rescue, Heavy Rescue, and Paramedic/Rescue.
Managed the operations of the Fire Department as the Chief in charge of Fire Operations. Oversaw and participated in all fire department functions including Fire Prevention, Hazardous Materials enforcement, Personnel, Administration, and all emergency activities. Developed and delivered programs for training Police, Fire, and City personnel in hazardous materials emergency response.
